Childrhyme

Follow the moon
over sleep strewn paths
time's bright scythe
in a pane of black
reaping dreams
till stars are gone
and rust red sun
corrodes the dawn

I close my eyes and smile. Nice, very nice.

I just returned from the funeral of a wonderful, sweet lady...this poem was the right one for me today.

(And just stopping by to say hello - I'm in between residences right now...) :)

This is just what I needed to read, too.
Thank you.

Christa; good to hear from you -- and glad the piece worked for you, in the circumstance. It's a trifle, but sometimes the small things are the ones we like most... I've carried it with me for years, just because of that. Are you over the ocean yet?

Fingers; you're (always) welcome...

Not yet - but soon...10 days. I'm at my parent's for now, helping with more Hurricane Katrina clean-up (it never ends). And then my computer won't arrive until April...arrgh! I may have to buy a laptop just to cope with the separation...

beauuutiful, schmootiful, there's only one rhyme!

sure, y'didn't call it Childrhymnes, but I thought I'd get at least a couple.

For next time:
moon - goon (if you're tired of june, rune and spoon)
paths - maths (that's what others in the Commonwealth call math)
scythe - I don't know, but how many people have even seen a scythe these days? They all use weedwackers, and there's great rhymes for "weedwacker"
dreams - memes (yes, we know how you love memes)
sun - pun (not as much as you love puns, maybe)

Oh look, Dwarf! I see a rocket! Shouldn't you be chasing it or something?

Gee, Coyote, what are you trying to say?

Wait, a rocket? where?

Behind you... quick, you'll miss it!
