Surface tension

When you spoke, then,
outside the cinema
I finally understood
that we two had been
filming ourselves inside
two different frames
not one, all along,
that you'd heard
not what I'd said
but your own overdub
that you attributed to me
because you saw
my mouth moving
somewhat in time with
the script
you imagined
as you tried
to read my lips
through layers of
transparent celluloid
between us.
How could we
have gone
so long
getting
the translation
so wrong?

Shucks this is absoluatle beautiful!
It's so real, so tangible.
Conversations spilling out from celluloid to the seats in the front row...

Hi, Flying Fingers! It seems real, but it's really a movie....
