Sorry but as an avid birder I must correct you. I believe this is a Black Capped Chickadee... unless you've been south lately ;)

As a dog who is only an avid eater of birds - they all taste like chicken - I bow to your greater knowledge.
In my defense, the illustrations I looked at in Stokes showed a black-capped with a gold breast and a rather rounder head - this guy's head and grey breast matched the Carolina illustration almost precisely.
