Hi, Other Coyote. It's the top of a giant glass 'lantern' that extends the entrance at the Canadian Museum of Nature's Victoria Memorial Museum Building upward.

It's an architectural feature that's part of a major renovation. It references the original crenellated entrance tower, designed and built beginning in 1905 by the Chief Dominion Architect, David Ewart, at the full height of what is essentially a baronial stone castle. It was removed three years later when the front tower proved massive enough to start sinking and tipping into the Leda clay it was built on. Oops. The new transparent stand-in will weigh less...
